Scholarship donations to the Alumni and Friends of Belmont High School, Inc., are greatly appreciated. The two types of scholarship opportunities that you may consider are General Fund Scholarships or Permanent Fund Scholarships.
General Fund Scholarship donations are unrestricted gifts that will be available each year for scholarship awards. A limited Treasury balance will be maintained to provide funding for annual appeals.
Permanent Fund Scholarship donations are restricted gifts to perpetuate the memory of a named individual, college, university or a Belmont High School Class to provide a scholarship award each year to a Belmont High School student with financial need. Donations of $5,000 made initially or over time, may be made to establish the named fund. When the fund is established with less than $5,000, AFBHS will invest those donations and contribute the earnings to the fund annually. When the $5,000 threshold is reached, a maximum of 35% of the earnings on the fund will be available for current year scholarships, 65% or more will be invested by the AFBHS, Inc. and the income will be used to build the endowment.
You may wish to donate to the fund by providing the necessary language in your will or life insurance policies. Such bequests can be money, real estate, stocks, bonds, or other assets of the estate. In order to remember Belmont High School in your will, you need only bequeath a gift "TO THE ALUMNI AND FRIENDS OF BELMONT HIGH SCHOOL, INC. FOR SCHOLARSHIPS TO BELMONT HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES."
